James Morgan Allen, 68, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018. Jim worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years until his retirement. He then went on to be a bus driver for Greater Clark County Schools. He was proud to have the honor of becoming a Kentucky Colonel. Jim loved animals, especially dogs. He also enjoyed reading and learning about history. Above all of that, his true love was his children and grandchildren.
Jim was born on December 2, 1949 in Salyersville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his father, William Allen.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Janet (Cadle) Allen; children, Greg Creamer (Julie), Jason Creamer (Donna), Matt Allen and Shana Peterson (Gilman); mother, Norma (Sims) Allen; brothers, Jack Allen (Kathy) and David Toler (Judy); 9 grandchildren, Amanda, Brayden, Shelby, Jacob, Deandra, Jared, Elle, Emme & Eve; and his faithful canine companion, Bella.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
