Jacqueline Lee "Jackie" McSherry, 51, lost her battle with breast cancer on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville. She has now gone home to be with her Lord Jesus.
Jackie grew up in Memphis, TN, moved to Louisville as a teenager and graduated from Doss High School. She was a proud member of Southeast Christian Church (Southwest) for many years, and took much comfort from her faith in Jesus, and from the friends and support of the church community. She enjoyed spending time with friends while learning her recently discovered hobby of quilting. And, she was an avid flea market shopper, who loved to hunt for one of a kind bargains to give to family and friends. Her favorite pastime was being with her beloved son, Johnny.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Ellen P. McSherry. She was a proud mother to her son, Johnny Coates, and a loving partner to her best friend, David Jacobs. She also leaves behind her sister, Ellen Mings (Louis) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, who will miss the light she brought into their lives.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway to be immediately followed at 6:30 p.m. by her Memorial Service, also at the funeral home.
