Jacqueline Anita "Jackie" Lewis, daughter of the late JD and Carolyn Foster and Van and Dora Sweat was born October 19, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky. She attended Central High School in Jefferson County, KY.
After graduating High School, she married and worked in the health care industry, until she started her family, to which she devoted her life.
At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member.
She was later united in holy matrimony to the late Donald W. Lewis August 9, 1986. Donald Lewis preceded her in death on April 7, 1993.
Jackie was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, and a women of faith that fought sickness as a solider on the battlefield. She loved listening to her gospel music that inspired her to keep believing in God. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she is loved by many. Her life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her son Marshall Murray; brothers, Carl Williams, Lewis "Sonny" Foster, Fount Hayes Jr, and sisters, Debra Foster, Gwendolyn Berry, and Gladys Bennett.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Tonia Murray, Glenn Murray, Roger Murray, Dejuan Murray, Antonio (Stephanie) Murray, of Louisville, KY; Twelve grandchildren, Five great grandchildren; Sister, Carol Jean Tate and friend Sylvia Johnson; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
