Jacob Joshua Wolford

Jacob Joshua Wolford passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 30. Born on August 2, 1996, Jacob lived with a spirit that was open, generous, and unmistakably vibrant. Bigger than life and someone who never met a stranger, he moved through the world with an energy that drew people in and made them feel welcome.

Jacob was a 2015 graduate of Doss High School and later served his country as a Navy Veteran. He faced hardships in life, but one of his proudest accomplishments was making a successful recovery, a testament to his strength, determination, and resilience.

He was an enthusiastic gamer and found joy in the simple pleasures of being outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, and spending time outside, always ready to get up and go with family and friends. He loved his family and brothers deeply, and that love was at the heart of who he was. Those who knew Jacob will remember his adventurous nature, his easy way with people, and the fullness of his presence.

Jacob would want those who loved him to celebrate his life and not be sad. That wish reflects the way he lived—with heart, courage, and a desire to share good moments with the people around him.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on October 4, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40272. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Barbara Wolford and aunt, Christal Kenney.

Jacob leaves behind to cherish his memories; his loving mother, Amy Wolford; step-father, Mike Cheng; sister, Meredith Cheng; brothers, Austin, Justin and Jayden Wolford; uncle, Jason Kenney and aunt, Teresa Hurst.

He will be remembered with love, gratitude, and the kind of lasting affection reserved for someone whose personality filled a room and whose presence made life brighter.
