Jack Kanipe

April 2, 1945 — June 1, 2015

Jackie Alfonzo "Jack" Kanipe, age 70 of Jeffersontown, was welcomed home on Monday, June 1, 2015. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War era, a member of American Legion Post G.I. Joe Post #244 and a Kentucky Colonel. Jack was a drummer for numerous bands, including Fishers of Men. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack "Pop" Kanipe and Jessie Krimple; his grandson, Jason Knight; and his two half-brothers and a half-sister.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Jessica Johnson (Jeremy); brother, Danny Kanipe (Linda); step-children, Dana Coyle (Paul), Debbie Knight (Ronnie) and David Harrison (Beth); grandchildren, Jacob, Justin and Jenna, Frank, Kristi and Marissa, Melanie and Ronda, Erin and Jamie; his special buddy, Dylon and nine additional great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind someone dear to his heart, Norma Kanipe; and his beloved "Maunt", Dorothy Jones; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 1-8pm on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with services there on Tuesday, June 9th at 11am. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Radcliff, Kentucky at 2pm.

Memorials may be made to the family.
