Jack Dempsey Pennington

Jack Dempsey Pennington, 82, of Louisville,KY was called home on Sunday, December 21, 2014. Jack was born on March 19, 1932 in Louisville, KY to Major Mac and Helen Cecelia Pennington. Jack was a retired Airforce mechanic and also retired from CSX Railroad(formerly L&N Railroad),enjoyed traveling, antiques and spending time with family and friends.Jack loved talking to people and sharing life's experiences. Jack never met a stranger, had a thirst for knowledge and innovative ideas. He enjoyed reading and dancing in his unique style. He took pride in caring for his family, was a generous and kind-hearted soul, and will be sorely missed.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jean (Simpson) Pennington,sister, Marie Jager. He is survived by his children , Jackie Smith(Norman), Kym Combs(Garry), Margaret"Mickey" Pennington-Moore(Martin), David Pennington(Jill), Adrian Pennington, eight grandchildren and a brother Wally Pennington.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 12 to 6 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.
