Issac "Sonny" Moreland, Jr.

Sonny entered eternal life peacefully on Monday, September 21 at the age of 69. Those who knew Sonny will remember him as a gentle soul who was kind and loved to party. He was in fact usually the life of the party and if he called you “loggerhead” it was a compliment.

He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and trusted friend to many. His life and love will live on through his wife Janie Moreland; his daughters Alicia Moreland, Sonia Seabolt and Monica (Joshua) Hurd; his grandchildren Addison Moreland, Mason Seabolt, Katherine Seabolt, Brayden Hurd and Kennedy Hurd; his sisters Violet (Jerry) Bertschy, Sheila Slone, Darlene (Randy) Gill, Lola (Matt) Bidwell and brother William Moreland. He was preceded in death by his parents Issac Moreland Sr. and Norma Moreland.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive. His service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
