Irene Emily Daw

Irene Emily Daw, born on March 12, 1947, in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, passed away on February 1, 2026, in Clarksville, Indiana. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Irene dedicated her life to her family, who were her pride and joy.

Irene worked as a scheduler for home health, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of many through her dedication and compassion. Cooking and camping were among her cherished hobbies, and she found immense joy in the company of her fur babies. She was a proud member of Maranantha Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

With a spirit that embraced life, Irene's proudest accomplishments revolved around her family. She treasured the moments spent with her husband of 33 years, Jerry Daw, and her children, John (Kathi) Ballew, Stacy (Michele) Ballew, and her step-sons, Kenneth (Sylenia) Daw and Kevin (Lisa) Daw. The light of her life shone even brighter in the laughter and love shared with her grandchildren: Alyssa (Danny), Kyle, Kevin, Cole, Christopher, and Erica, as well as her great-grandchildren, Xira and Daniel.

Irene is survived by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as her sisters, Sally (Fred) Gregg and Billie Jean (Mike) Gregg, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish her memory forever.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Lee Ballew, and her parents, William and Edna Augustson.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.

Irene Emily Daw will be remembered for her unwavering love, warmth, and devotion to her family, leaving behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
