Irene Anderson

September 29, 1935 — February 8, 2019

Irene Anderson, 83, passed away on February 8, 2019. She enjoyed gardening, working in the yard with Ellis reading and working crossword puzzles. Irene was a devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Nellie Douglas, siblings, J.C. Douglas, James Estil Douglas, Paul Lewis Douglas, Robert Randell Douglas, Mary Magdalene Sheperd and Imogene Byler.

Irene is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ellis Anderson Jr.; sons, Ellis Eugene (Robin) Anderson III, Robert (Christy) Anderson, Ron (Shelly) Anderson; grandchildren, Ellis (Nicole) Anderson IV, Amie (Justin) Schaefer, Tyler Druin, Cameron Anderson, Dylan McWilliams, Mackenzie McWilliams, Ron Anderson, Jr., Courtney Anderson, and Savannah Anderson and great-grandchildren, Addyson, Ellis V, Anderson, Carter, Jackson, and Sayler.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, Receptions Southwest Louisville Chapel, from 4pm-8pm. A celebration of Irene's life will be Wednesday, February 13, 2019, beginning at 11am at the chapel of the funeral home.

Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Hwy, Valley Station, KY 40272.
