Ida M. (Craig) Jenks

January 22, 1935 — May 15, 2020

Ida M. (Craig) Jenks, 85, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020. She retired from Hazelwood Middle School after over 40 years of food service management. Following retirement, Ida became an active volunteer at Baptist Health Floyd and the Salvation Army. She was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany.

She was born on January 22, 1935 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Samuel Sr. and Mabel (Dezember) Craig. Ida was also preceded in death by her brothers, Samuel Jr., Donald and Jack Craig.

Ida is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Jenks; children, Steven Jenks (Linda), DeeAnn McDonald (Stephen), Denise Schnatter; grandchildren, Alexandria Moore (Robert), Hunter Schnatter, Carson Schnatter; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with her care. Entombment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.

Contributions in her memory may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (PO Box 37920, Boone, IA 50037).
