Howard "Von" V. Wells

Howard "Von" V. Wells, passed away on April 5, 2026. He was born on December 27, 1934, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Known affectionately as Von, he was a devoted family man and who spent a life-long career in the printing industry. Von found his greatest joy in spending quality time with his wife, traveling together, attending sporting events, and enjoying trips to the casino.

Howard is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Lucille Wells; his cherished son, Dean Wells; and his parents, Howard Wells and Marie Gentile.

He was proud and deeply devoted to his family. He dearly loved his children: Paul (Sue) Taylor, April (Mark) Smythe, Kevin (Lisa) Wells, Renee (Danny) Bodner, and his daughter-in-law, Lisa Wells. His affection extended joyfully to his grandchildren-Bobbi Jo Beverly, Matthew Wells, Bryce Kendall, Brett Kendall, Jack Wells, Luke Wells, and Allie Sceggel-and his great-grandchildren, Taylor Beverly, Ethan Wells, Ella Wells, and Strotman Sceggel. His family was the true heartbeat of his life, a source of pride and happiness that he cherished above all else.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 9:30 am on Thursday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens-West.
