Hobert Louis Burkhead

June 20, 1930 — November 29, 2016

Hobert Louis Burkhead, age 86, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church and retired from GMAC after 41 years of dedicated service. He loved flying, playing golf and traveling with his wife Barbara in their RV. He was born in Hardin County, Kentucky, to the late Archie and Ella Mae Burkhead. In addition to his parents, Hobert is preceded in death by his brother, Philip Burkhead; and sister, Catherine Mercer.

Hobert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Hornback Burkhead; daughters, Karen Greenwell (Buddy), Leigh Anne Logsdon (Mark); granddaughter, Erin Thompson (Larry); and three great-grandchildren; his brother, S.J. Burkhead; and sisters, Artie Marie Hays and Donnie Faye Lindsey; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 2-6pm on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. Funeral ceremony will be 11am Monday, December 5th at the funeral home. Interment will be 2:30pm Monday at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
