Hiram "Rick" Fee, left this world September 1, 2024, at the age of 71. Born in Harlan, Kentucky, on September 11, 1952, Rick's journey through life was marked by warmth, joy, and a deep-seated love for the things that brought him fulfillment.
After Rick retired from Duke Energy, his vibrant personality and rich interests colored the lives of those around him. A true aficionado of music, he held a special place in his heart for southern rock, and his love for music always seemed to resonate with the rhythm of his life. There were never dull moments when Rick gathered with family and friends to enjoy his favorite tunes.
Rick cherished time spent with family, particularly enjoying spirited games of Euchre, where laughter and camaraderie filled the air. His fondness for the culinary delights and cultural vibrancy of New Orleans led him to establish a cherished home there, a sanctuary of joy that reflected his love for good food, great music, and the intriguing stories entwined in the fabric of Louisiana culture.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Eulalie Fee, and a caring father to his wonderful children, Kristine Fee (Ryan Thompson) and Hiram "Ben" Fee (Casey). Rick took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to five grandchildren: Ryann Ludwick (Nate), Luci Fee, Daniel Fee, Jack Thompson and Eli Thompson. Each one had a unique bond with their Papaw, filled with laughter and lessons that will forever echo in their hearts. He is also survived by his sisters, Janice Fee and Debby Biggs (Roy), along with his sister-in-law, Melissa McIntosh (Linda Medley), and his beloved dog, Nash.
Rick is preceded in death by his father, Hiram Fee Jr., and his mother, Colleen Flannary Bates.
As we remember Rick Fee, we celebrate a man whose zest for life and love for family will forever remain in our hearts. His legacy is one of joy and cherished moments, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
