Hilda Vivian(Jenkins) Wahl

Hilda Vivian (Jenkins) Wahl, 99, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 in New Albany, Indiana.

Hilda was born on May30, 1916 in Crawford County, Indiana to Charles M. and Emma F. (Boss) Jenkins. She worked in retail for many years and attended Pilot Knob United Methodist Church growing up. She was a member at Marengo Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and playing cards, especially five hundred rummy.

Along with her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her late husbands; James Hughes, George Eastridge, and Joe Wahl; siblings; Anna Mae Schultz, Ted Jenkins, Kathleen Gottfried, James Jenkins, Charles Jenkins, Mary Lois Harpe, Ida Leach, Clyde Jenkins, and grandson, Anthony Hughes. She is survived by her children; Eulalia Moore , James Ronald Hughes ,Donald Lee Hughes; 7 grandchildren; Donnie, Debra, Cyndy Hughes, Pamela Jo Christianson (Lee), Jennifer Ann Porath (Martin), Lara Richards(Scot), Michelle Abila,and 10 great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be from 5PM to 7PM on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Newcomer Funeral Home ( 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her service will at 11AM on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home with visitation before from 9-11AM with burial to follow at Marengo Cemetery.
