Herman Vance Brown

August 27, 1925 — October 26, 2014

Herman V. Brown, 89, of New Albany passed away on October 26, 2014. Herman was a proud U. S. Army veteran of World War II retiring with the U. S. Government as a field representative with the Social Security Administration. Herman graduated from Vincennes University and University of Evansville. He was a member of the Acacia Fraternity in Evansville. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in New Albany.

He was born on August 27, 1925 in Barbourville, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his brother, Luther Evans, aunt and uncle who raised him, George and Laura Brown , and beloved wife, Cecila Cogswell Brown.

Herman is survived by his loving daughter, Gabriella Brown of New Albany.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Funeral Service at 7PM Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be a private entombment and military honors at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
