Herman Joseph"Junie" Bachman, Jr.

February 23, 1930 — July 16, 2016

Herman Joseph "Junie" Bachman, Jr., 86, a devoted husband and father, of Lanesville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2016. He retired from General Electric and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, as well as the Knights of Columbus Council 1808 in Lanesville. Junie was a devout Catholic and was well known for his "fried chicken" at the annual church picnic.

Junie was born on February 23, 1930 in Lanesville to the late Herman, Sr. and Celeste (Messing) Bachman. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Melba "Bobbie" Schueler, Kathleen Kahlan, and Mary Bachman Schmidt.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dolores (Rake) Bachman; children, Becky Kepley (Tim), Tim Bachman (Kara); and grandchildren, Brian Kepley, Dane Bachman, and Elaina Bachman.

Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany) and on Friday after 9 AM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church (2500 St. Mary's Drive NE, Lanesville) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
