Herman M. Adams Jr., born on January 11, 1943 in Mannsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026 in New Albany, Indiana. He was 83 years old, and leaves behind a legacy defined by love, gentle humor, and a devotion to both family and his many passions.
Herman was the beloved husband of Joyce Adams, who stood by his side and shared in the many adventures and quiet joys of life. Their journey together saw the growth of a loving family, with their sons Todd Adams and Aaron Adams cherishing the lessons, laughter, and steadfast support he provided throughout their lives. His presence will be deeply missed by his grandson, Nathan Adams, who was a source of immense pride and happiness for Herman.
Herman’s life was enriched by a diverse set of interests. He found joy in collecting antiques and saw beauty in the stories woven through each unique piece. His culinary skills were cherished by those lucky enough to gather around his table, and the pleasure he took in cooking was rivaled only by his enthusiasm for gardening and tending to his yard. He also loved spending time with his cherished fur baby, Otto, whose companionship brought comfort and companionship. Travel held a special place in Herman’s heart; a highlight was an unforgettable antique adventure in England with his wife, reflecting both his curiosity and appreciation for history.
Herman is preceded in death by his father, Herman M. Adams Sr., his mother, Bertha K. Adams, his brother, Wendell Adams, and his sisters, Ann B. Sheley and Connie Sue Adams. The enduring love he shared with each of them continues in the hearts of those who mourn his passing.
A private burial service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenville, Indiana, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a life well lived.
Herman M. Adams Jr.’s kindness, the life he shared with those around him, and the countless memories he leaves behind will remain an everlasting source of inspiration and comfort to his loved ones.
