Henry Herbert Moore

March 13, 1935 — December 30, 2016

Henry Herbert "Uncle Hank" Moore, 81, was born on March 13, 1935, to the late George and Clerona Moore. He departed this life on December 30, 2016. He retired from Phillip Morris after working there for over 30 years. Henry was an avid swimmer, fisherman and U of L fan.

Henry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Wanda Samuels Moore; daughters, Delories Smith, Rosalind (Jerry) Frazier, Stephanie Samuels, Lorri (Antonio) King; sons, Dennis (Cheryl) Moore; sisters, Ella Williams, Violet Nichols, Angela (Leonard) Blackmon; brothers, Joseph Shepard, Jr. and Ralph Shephard and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 4033 Vermont Avenue, Louisville, KY from 11am-1pm with a celebration of Henry's life beginning at 1pm.

Burial will follow at Green Meadows Cemetery, 3800 Shanks Ln, Louisville, KY.


The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Patrick Williams, Oncologist with Norton's Cancer Institute along with nurses, Mrs. Tracey and Mrs. Gretchen for 8 years of quality care, Mrs. Angela for caring for him with his scheduled appointments. Thank you for the love your front office support staff gave him on his visits. We would also like to express our gratitude to Hosparus of Louisville.
