Henri Morgan Steele, 74, of New Albany, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 24, 2017.
Henri was born on October 14, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Henri Mudlock and Priscilla (Smith) Steele. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Williams; brothers, William and Lamonte Steele; and stepfather, Jack Byron Blue.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Vanessa (Peters) Steele; children, Byron Steele, India Gilvens (Rory), Ty Burrell (Jon), and Madell Peters; brother, Carl Steele (Margaret); grandchildren, Shai, Byron, Jr., Janeé (Adam), Michael, Tionna, T'Asia, Myah, Malachai, Malik, McKenna, and Maverick.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday. His Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Jones Memorial AME Zion Church (258 Ealy Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150) with burial to follow at Westhaven Cemetery.
