She was born on May 23, 1935 in Bullitt County, Kentucky to Delbert and Myrtle (Goldsmith) Whitesides. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Ronald) Ferris, and Sandra (Thomas) Claggett, son, Mark Thompson, nephew, Albert Whitesides. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
