Helen (Freitik) Mantooth
August 17, 1927 — January 18, 2018
Helen (Freitik) Mantooth, 90, loving mother and grandmother, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, currently of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday morning, January 18, 2018. She had worked as a waitress for over 35 years with Gilbert Robinson in Kansas City and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany.
She was born on August 17, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late John and Opal Mae (Hardin) Freitik. Helen was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Mantooth; sister, Betty Bishop; and grandson, Paul Towner.
Helen is survived by her children, Lawrence "Larry" Lufholm, Jr. (Dorothy), Sharon Taylor, Robert Lufholm, Gerald "Jerry" Mantooth, Jr. (Patti), Cheryl Towner (Larry); 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM (CST) Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at D.W. Newcomer Funeral Home (509 S. Noland Road, Independence, MO 64050). There will be a Graveside Service at 11:45 AM (CST) at Longview Cemetery.
The family requests that contribution in her memory be made to the American Heart Association.
