Helen Lucille Day

Helen Lucille (Atkins) Day, passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on December 21, 1931, in New Albany, Indiana, Helen was a spirited woman whose zest for life was evident in everything she did.

Helen embraced her passions wholeheartedly, whether it was indulging in shopping sprees or embarking on exciting trips to the casino, where she enjoyed trying her luck at the slot machines. Her vibrant personality and love for adventure brought joy to those around her, creating cherished memories with family and friends.

Helen leaves behind her beloved daughters, Joyce Caswell and Vickie Brown; her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Carlisle, Rebecca (Larry) Barnes, Jeremy Hanka, and Michael (Alayna) Wolf; her 8 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Kenneth (Betty) Atkins.

She is reunited in spirit with her late parents, Alvin Atkins and Ruth Hublar Atkins; her husband, Melvin Day Sr.; her son, Melvin Day Jr.; and son-in-law, Sam Brown. Additionally, she joins her siblings who have preceded her in death: Alvin Atkins, William Atkins, Donald Atkins, Charles "Chad" Atkins, Leroy Atkins, Jean Wathen, Pat Burke, and Mary Mitchell.

Cremation was chosen following Helen's wishes.
