Helen Viola Boyd
August 23, 1932 — March 9, 2019
Helen Viola Boyd, 86, passed away on March 9, 2019. She loved playing poker, card games and reading. Helen had a kind heart and was generous to a fault.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Margaret Ray; brothers, Leo Ray and Layman Ray; sisters, Nada Yates, Kathy Knight and Leila McGee.
Helen is survived by her husband of 40 years, Tim Boyd; sons, Allen (Angie) Black, Gene (Sandy) Devine and Jim (Diane) Devine; grandchildren, Magan, Jason, Doug, Dwayne, Devin, James, II and Claude, 6 great grandchildren; brother, Wesley (Patty) Ray and Ernie (Julie) Ray; sisters, Valarie (Andy) Benzinger and Diane O'Daniel and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 4pm-8pm. A celebration of Helen's life will be Thursday, March 14, 2019, beginning at 1pm at the chapel of the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery- Central, 2501 N. Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY beginning at 2:30.
