Hassie Mae (Redfern) Dougherty, 89, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021. She attended Northside Christian Church and enjoyed sewing, crafting, ceramics, and cooking.

She was born on January 3, 1932, in Sumner County, Tennessee, to the late Sydney and Mary (Pearson) Redfern. Along with her parents, Hassie is preceded in death by her son, Gordon Dougherty; and brothers, Jessie and Johnnie Redfern.

Hassie is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Glenn (Roscoe) Applegate; 3 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Brandon, Maggie Compton, and Evelyn Denson; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 2, 2021, at with burial to follow in Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
