Harvey C. Lips, 83, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021. Harvey enjoyed spending time in the garage with his beloved dog, Paco, and being out on the water in his boat. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
He was born on August 28, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Walter and Marion (Fontana) Lips. In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Lips; and stepson, Bobby Sample.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Bonnie (Benne) Lips; brother, Roger Lips (Ann); stepchildren, Rebecca Hart, Susan (Gary) Miracle, and Danny (Krista) Heustis; nephew, Jonathan Lips; niece, Bridget Lips-Golden; grandchildren, Erin, Justin, and Allen; and great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Tre, Millie, and Ellie.
Cremation was chosen following Harvey's wishes, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. The family requests that contributions in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society (1640 Lyndon Farm Court, Suite 104, Louisville, KY 40223).
