Harry Lee Roberts, age 101 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2025.
Born in Lockport, Kentucky, to Nettie Floyd and Jessie Roberts, Harry grew up on a small tobacco farm in Gratz. He attended high school in Pleasureville before enlisting in the Army Air Corps, where he proudly served from 1944 to 1947. During his service, he met and married Stella Raisor, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage and one beloved daughter, Olivia.
After the war, Harry and Stella purchased a tobacco farm in Franklinton, Kentucky, where they worked the land together for several years. In 1953, the family moved to a modest home in Lyndon, Kentucky. Harry began a 15-year career as a milkman with Walnut Grove Dairy, where he became an active member of the Teamsters Union and a familiar face in the community.
Following his separation from Stella, Harry married Carol Cohen. He held various jobs until his retirement, and the couple remained devoted to one another until Carol’s passing. For the past 15 years, Harry made his home in Dorsey Gardens in Louisville, where he continued to live independently and vibrantly.
Harry was a lifelong fan of Kentucky Wildcats basketball and a passionate sports enthusiast. He cherished time spent at the neighborhood pub, enjoying a couple of beers with friends—something he continued to do well into his centenarian years. Known for his quick wit, hearty laugh, and magnetic personality, Harry was truly one of a kind. He never met a stranger, and in return, everyone knew Harry. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Russell Roberts; and half-sisters Doris Dawson, Mary Minch, and Annabelle Beverly.
Harry is survived by his daughter, Olivia Miller; grandsons, John, David, and Jeffrey Miller; great-granddaughter, Elise Miller; half-sister, Billie Jo Williams; and a host of family and friends.
Harry lived a long, remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. His spirit, humor, and unmistakable laugh will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
