Harry Elwood McCoy, Sr.

Harry Elwood McCoy, Sr., 73, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. A devoted family man and a passionate gardener, Harry's life was a testament to hard work and dedication. His career in landscaping spanned over 30 years, reflecting his love for nature and being outdoors. Alongside his profession, Harry enjoyed fishing and cherished the time spent with his family.

Born on July 23, 1951, in New Albany, Indiana, Harry was the son of William, Sr. and Dorothy (Pelman) McCoy. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers—William Jr., Robert, and Larry McCoy.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Nancy (Helm) McCoy; he leaves behind a legacy through his children: Tina Smith (Bart), Chris Hall (Dawn), and Harry McCoy, Jr. (Stephanie), his brother Richard McCoy (Leann), sisters-in-law Darlene and Selena McCoy, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren with another on the way, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will always remember him fondly.

Visitation for Harry will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, and will continue on Monday after 9:00 a.m. His funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
