Harry William Harmon

Harry William Harmon, 83, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away on Saturday evening, December 31, 2016. He was a United States Army veteran and retired from IMI Concrete. Harry was a devoted husband and had a passion for American Quarter horses.

He was born on October 6, 1933, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Curtis and Helen (Wening) Harmon. Harry was also preceded in death by his sister, Jean Kotheimer.

Harry is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Suzanne (Receveur) Harmon; siblings, Frances White and Alan Harmon (Anne); sisters and brothers-in-law, Dr. Robert Receveur (Diana), Dr. Paul Receveur (Ann), Mary Lou Pate, and Carol Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. Harry's Funeral Service with military honors will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home with cremation to follow. A celebration of Harry's life will be held at a later date.

The family requests that contributions in Harry's memory be made to Depauw Memorial United Methodist Church (925 Vincennes Street, New Albany) or to Rauch Industries (845 Park Place, New Albany).
