Harry Thomas Harbison

Harry Thomas Harbison, 78, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday morning, October 14, 2016. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany as well as the New Albany Lions Club. Harry retired from Kaiser Tobacco in New Albany and had formerly served on the New Albany city council, New Albany Parks and Recreation Board, the Floyd Memorial Hospital Foundation, IU Varsity Club, and the River Hills Redevelopment Group.

He was born on May 31, 1938 in New Albany to the late Harold and Helen (Constantine) Harbison. Harry was aslo preceded in death by his brother, Joe Harbison.

Harry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara (Crowder) Harbison; children, Laura Johnson (Nate), Andy Harbison (Leida), Theresa Missi (Gary), Thomas Harbison, Diane Hoffman (Rodger), Tony Harbison (Renee), Ted Spadie (Dinah), Jay Spadie (Kirstie); 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 1 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 E. 8th St. New Albany, IN 47150) with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
