Harrell Birts, Sr.

Harrell Birts, Sr., 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021.
He was born on January 4, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Lonnie and Willie B. Birts. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Collins Birts, sister Willie Mae Mays, nephew Adrian Birts and great-niece India Birts.
Harrell was a 1965 graduate of Vashon High School in St. Louis High School and retired after 20 years of service at the Central State Mental Hospital. He was also a member and Deacon at Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church.
Harrell is survived by his sons, Harold Lamont Scott, Harrell Birts, Jr., sisters; Betty Cowthon, Leatrice Johnson and grandchildren, Harold Scott, Jr., Sherry Scott, niece Kimberly Cowthon, nephews Allan Bullock III, James Bullock and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
The family requests that contributions in Harrell's memory be made to The American Diabetes Association.
