Harold Lee Montgomery Jr., 72, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Born on August 6, 1952, in New Albany, Indiana, Harold was known for his vibrant spirit and a deep love for life.
Harold is survived by his wife, Paula (Blanton) Montgomery. He took immense joy in his roles as a father and grandfather, cherishing moments spent with his son, Lee Crouse, daughter, Tiffany Patrick, and grandchildren, Collin Patrick, Grace Patrick, and Vivian Rose Crouse. His love extended beyond his immediate family; he found great comfort in the support and companionship of his sisters, Carolyn Faulkenburg, Pat (Larry) Poole, and Judy Deforrest, and his brother, Christian (Christina) Derree, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold Lee Montgomery Sr., mother, Louise Montgomery, and brothers, Ronald Montgomery, Ricky Montgomery, and Stevie Montgomery.
A retiree of Haas Cabinets in Sellersburg after dedicating 32 years to his career, Harold enjoyed a variety of pastimes that brought him happiness. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and loved spending time mowing and tending to his yard. Harold often engaged in crafting and building model cars, allowing his creative side to flourish. His enthusiasm for life and his inexhaustible love for his family were central to his existence.
Visitation for Harold will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany, located at 3309 Ballard Lane. A funeral service honoring his life will be held at 1:00 pm on the same day, followed by burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
The family requests that contributions in Harold’s memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
