Harold Ernst Hormann, age 103, went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2020 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Mr. Hormann was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mabel Grosse Hormann in 1995. Survivors include his sister Helen Roesler of Minneapolis, MN; son Edward Hormann, daughter Rita Zawalnicki of Fort Worth, TX; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many family members and friends.
Mr. Hormann was born March 11, 1917. After graduating from the University of Nebraska in 1942 with a degree in Civil Engineering, Harold spent four years with the Navy Bureau of Yards & Docks in Washington DC and then the rest of his career with the Corps of Engineers in Omaha where he became Chief of the Design Branch. He retired in 1975.
Harold and Mabel were members of First Lutheran Church in Omaha. In 1999 Harold moved to Louisville, Kentucky to be close to his son.
Harold was a positive, gentle, Christian man and will be missed by many. He lived his life to the fullest and was looking forward to his eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Burial will be private.
