Harlen Richard Yates, Sr., 88, of Louisville passed away on February 25, 2015.
Harlen was born in Somerset, KY on August 23, 1926, the son of the late Fredrick and Elizabeth (Warden) Yates. He served in the Navy during World War II.
In addition to his parents, Harlen was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Yates and son, Harlan Richard Yates, Jr.
Survivors include his children, Sharon Shaffer, Richard Yates, Peggy Jordan, David Yates, Robert Yates, Kathy Clifford, and Steve Yates; step-son, Harlen Bohannon; eight loving grandchildren; and a host of extended and friends.
Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, March 2, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). Funeral service 10:00am Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Kentucky Veteran Cemetery - Central in Radcliff, KY.
