Surrounded by her family Hannah Jean Szwed was welcomed into heaven by Jesus on May 7, 2026. Born on September 17, 2003 in Louisville, Kentucky. Hannah graced this world with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love for her family, son, and all those around her.
Hannah loved deeply and her life was a testament to kindness and willingness to help others. Hannah cherished her role as a mother. Her son, Dutton James Lee, was the center of her world and her proudest accomplishment.
Hannah’s life was marked by love and the steadfast support of a close-knit family. She is survived by her fiancé, Andrew Lee, her loving parents, Dustin and Meribeth Szwed; and her dear siblings, Stephen, Sophie, Emma Grace, and Annabelle. Her legacy extends to Catherine Profitt, her birth mother. She was blessed with the love of her grandparents, Bill and Georgia Profitt, Don Szwed and Sherri Cook. Along with her great-grandmother, Bette Schwab and a host of extended family members who shared in the joy of her life.
In celebration of Hannah’s life, a visitation will be held on May 14, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Drive. A second visitation will take place the following day on May 15, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Chapel in the Woods, 1407 Moser Road, Louisville. Her funeral service, honoring the light she brought into the world, will follow at 4:00 PM in the same chapel.
As we say goodbye, we remember her joyful demeanor, her capacity to love and her dedication to her family. Though her time with us was far too brief, the imprint she left is eternal. She reminds us of the hope of heaven available to all who trust in Jesus. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation. The old has passed away; Behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
