Hannah Dunne, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026.
She was born on October 2, 1950 in Limerick City, Ireland to James and Helen (Bohan) Dunne, the fifth of thirteen children. She is preceded in death by her father, James Dunne, mother, Helen (Bohan) Dunne, siblings, Bernadette "Bernie" Montague, Ann "Nora" McGuinness, and James "Jimmy" (Velma) Dunne.
Hannah is survived by her loving family, children, Richard S. Gray, Sharon H. (William "Michael" Black) Gray, grandchildren, Kiara Gray, Kylie Gray, Cheyenne Gray, great-grandpups Tonka and Peace, siblings, Eileen "Bunty" Lewin, Julia "Theresa" (Robert) Gray, Frank (Sophia) Dunne, Mary Elward, Cecilia "Cela" (Rustum) Desai, Margaret "Maggie" Mascarenhas, Catherine "Caca" Dunne, Angela "Sandie" (Beatrice) Dunne, and Jennifer "Jenny" (Peter) Dunne, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Hannah was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, she had 40 years of sobriety. Hannah was also an activist, she was a staunch socialist, feminist, and was committed to the anti-racist movement. She was a lung cancer survivor. Hannah was well-traveled, having lived in Ireland, England, Jamaica, and Canada before spending the rest of her life in the United States. In the United States she split her time between Louisville, Kentucky and Laurel, Maryland committed to helping raise her “three angels”, Kiara, Kylie, and Cheyenne in her most cherished role as their nana.
