Gwenda Lou Murphy, 80, of Louisville, passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2016. She retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education and JC Penney's. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her great joy and she loved watching UK sports.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora and step-father, Gervis Keel and her father, Herman Greer who gave his life during WWII.
Gwenda is survived by her children, Kenny Murphy, Bill Murphy and Angela (Tim) Fish; grandchildren, Michael, Chris, Patrick, Matthew, Jacob, David and Jon; great-grandchildren, Alan and Stella; brother, Kenny and sister, Patricia.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 20, 2016, from 12pm-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of Gwenda's life will be Monday, November 21, 2016, beginning at 1pm at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel.
Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Highway 31 E., Magnolia, KY.
