Guy "Caveman" LaBry, born on September 25, 1968, in Lexington, Kentucky, left this world on October 18, 2025, leaving an enduring legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a devoted engineer whose career spanned esteemed institutions such as GE, Rolls Royce, and Remington Gun Manufacturing, where he applied his skills with passion and innovation.
Guy's educational journey led him to graduate from Seneca High School and Wesport Vocational School, paving the way for a life filled with technical accomplishments and a steadfast work ethic. Known for his engaging personality, Guy was not just an engineer but a source of joy to all who knew him. He had an infectious sense of humor, sharing daily jokes that lit up the lives of his family and friends. His love for Star Wars and the iconic band Van Halen often sparked conversations that would linger on in shared laughter. Loving, caring, and supportive, Guy was selfless in his ways, always putting others first.
His passions extended beyond his professional life, as he was an avid collector, amassing over 2000 pieces of physical media. His dedication to cinema was evidenced by his YouTube channel, "Caveman Movies and More," where he shared his treasures and insights with fellow enthusiasts. Guy was also a talented artist who's drawings were influenced by Patrick Nagel.
Guy is survived by his loving girlfriend, Valerie Hughes, and his cousin Jena Winfield, who will carry forth his spirit and the wonderful memories they created together. These relationships were a testament to his capacity for love and kindness, traits he exemplified every day.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche (Crum) McDonald.
In honor of his memory, a visitation will be held on November 20, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 4:00 PM. The address for the church is 5708 Preston Highway Louisville, Kentucky 40219
