Guido Alvarez

Guido Alvarez, 96, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

He was born on March 31, 1929 in Matanzas, Cuba to the late Francisco Alvarez and Carmen Hernandez. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Aida Alvarez and Tita Alvarez.

Guido is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ofelia Fernandez Rozas, sons, Tony Alvarez Fernandez (Yaumara), daughter, Lourdes Alvarez Fernandez (Carlos), son, Guido Alvarez Torres, five grandchildren, Greter Alvarez, Talia Alvarez, Gilberto Marrero, Ernesto Hernandez, Naivy Alvarez, eight great-grandchildren, Shirley, Stephanie, Samantha, Daniela, Michael, Alexander, Felix and Fabio. Guido is also survived by his sister, Lilia Monzo (Pascual).

Per Guido's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
