G.T. Embry
June 16, 1927 — August 9, 2016
G.T. Dale Embry, 89, passed away on August 9, 2016. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who served during WWII. Dale was an active member of his church, Southend Church of Christ, and he enjoyed being around people. He will be missed by his canine companion, Brownie.
He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick C. Embry.
Dale is survived by his children, Michael (Mary) Embry, Sheri Stevens, Carolyn (Richard) Jones, Marilyn (Kevin) Dover, Paul Embry and Julie Tomlinson; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and his longtime friend, Deborah Jenkins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 16, 2016, from 5pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of Dale's life will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016, beginning at 11am at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home SW.
A graveside service will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Radcliff, KY at 1pm.
The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
