Gregory Neil "Greg" Baumann, 57, of Lanesville, Indiana passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at his home with his family at his side. Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and traveling. He was an avid IU fan whose love for sports transcended into the joy of coaching youth in a number of sports. Above all that, Greg's greatest love was his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and worked at Atlas Machine & Supply in Louisville for 35 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Pamela (Traub) Baumann; children, Chad Baumann (Jaime), Adam Baumann (Jamie), & Amanda Brinkworth (Jeff); siblings, Donna Irmscher (Bob), Diane Thomas (Mark), Douglas Baumann, and Phyllis Naville (Daryl); grandchildren, Chloe, Layla, Ava, Grayson, Baron, Morgan, & Natalie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin E. "Red" & Catherine (Schmidt) Baumann.
Visitation will be from 12 to 8 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Prayer Service being held at 2 PM.
There will be a visitation at 9:00 AM Wednesday at St. Mary of the Knobs Chapel followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 AM with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
