Granville Dee Hinton, Jr.

Granville Dee Hinton, Jr., 74, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. He was proud of his service in the United States Army and an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. Granville was a dedicated worker and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was born on December 28, 1945, in Georgetown, Kentucky, to the late Granville, Sr., and Juanita (Simon) Hinton. Granville is survived by his wife, Betty (Vance) Hinton; children, Lynn Esposito, Mike Hinton (Prindle), Kelly Chilton (Coy), Bryan McKean (Ellen), Jennifer Adams (Brian), and Michael McKean (Kathryn); brother, Bill Hinton (Vickie); 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service taking place at 2:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Silver Creek Cemetery in Sellersburg, Indiana.

Contributions in Granville's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (1640 Lyndon Farm Court, Suite 104, Louisville, KY 40223).
