Gordon Dean Hoffman, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, formerly of Jeffersonville, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018. Gordon was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Jeffersonville and loved to hunt and fish. Gordon loved playing Santa Claus for Walnut Ridge Nursery and Garden Center and loved visiting the Falls of the Ohio.

He was born on January 13, 1937, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Charles and Mattie (Staley) Hoffman. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Delores Mae (Pendleton) Hoffman; brothers, Charles and Marvin; and sisters, LaVerne and Velva.

Gordon is survived by his loving children, David (Tina) Hoffman, Deena (Melissa Miles) Hoffman, and Damon (Jennifer) Hoffman; grandchildren, Brittany, Candice, Zachary, and Jackson Hoffman; and sisters, Donna and Vonna.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.

The family requests that contributions in Gordon's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
