Gloria Jean Harris

Gloria Jean Harris, born on June 23, 1963, in New Albany, Indiana, departed this life peacefully on July 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Gloria was known for her warm spirit and nurturing heart.

Throughout her life, Gloria took immense pride in caring for and nurturing her children-her two daughters, Camiya and Lateennia Harris, and her son, Mareece Harris. As a grandmother to her granddaughter Heaven Johnson and an expectant great-grandmother to her great grandson, Azaire Waller, she found joy in watching her family grow and flourish. Her dedication to her loved ones was her proudest accomplishment, exemplifying unconditional love and support.

Gloria was a beloved member of her community and attended Second Baptist Church in New Albany, Indiana, where she found solace and strength in her faith. In addition to her family devotion, she had a variety of interests that enriched her life. Cooking brought her happiness, as she often shared meals with her family. She enjoyed journaling, which allowed her to express her thoughts and feelings. Arts and crafts were a passion of hers, as were the melodies of music, particularly those of Michael Jackson, whose songs filled her heart with joy.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and connection, fondly remembered also by her sisters, Mary Kay Byrd, Sherry (Bural) Morris, Regina Harris, and Susan Harris, as well as her brother, Dell Harris. Gloria's life touched the hearts of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will carry her memory forward.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Robert D. and Margaret Harris; and brothers, William Robert Harris, Sr., Hal David Harris, and Warren Harris. Her family and friends will forever cherish the moments they shared and the love she imparted upon them. Gloria Jean Harris will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain a guiding light in the lives of those she loved.
