Gloria M. (Ferree) Chambers, 72, of Jeffersonville, Indiana was a warm, kind, and giving soul lost from her family and the community on January 4th, 2020 after a brief and sudden illness.
She was born on December 17, 1947 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Homer and Louise (Charron) Ferree. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband John "Jack" Chambers; brother, Karl Ferree; and brother-in-law, Bob Selvaggi.
Gloria is survived by her loving sons, John M. (Elisa) Chambers and Chris; siblings, Martha (Gerald) Saulman, Rosa (Steven) Warren, Bertha (John) Young, Homer A. (Marilyn) Ferree, Jr., Diane Ferree, Michael (Paula) Ferree, James (Jan) Ferree, and Theresa Selvaggi; sister-in-law, Yvette Ferree; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gloria retired from Bell South after 30 years. She moved from Corydon in 2010 to be near her sons, then to Jeffersonville in 2019 to be near her siblings and to live with her sister, Diane.
She was an avid UofL and Colts Fan. She attended Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Homer and Marilyn. She was a prodigious Facebook poster of positive thoughts and prayers.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon, Indiana.
