Gloria Elizabeth Blake

Gloria Elizabeth Blake (Swihart), 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away in her home on July 7th. She was born on December 9, 1944, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Glen and Elizabeth (Johnson) Swihart.

Gloria attended Ball State University, where she met the love of her life and fellow adventurer, Danny Blake. They were married on September 18, 1964, and shared nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage until Danny's passing. Gloria retired from Elkhart Electric Company and was a member of Hurstbourne Christian Church.

Gloria had a lifelong love of nature and animals, especially cats. She enjoyed gardening, exploring scenic trails, cooking, and spending time outdoors with family.

She is survived by her son, Brian Blake (Karen) of Louisville; grandsons Aiden Blake (Grace) of Denver and Grayson Blake (fiancée Carlyssa) of Dallas; sister-in-law Jeanie Decker; nephew Shannon Klein (Allison); and great-niece Jessica Hill.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Danny Blake; her parents, Glen and Elizabeth Swihart; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Decker.
