Glenda Lee Spanjers

Glenda Lee Spanjers, 75, passed away on May 9, 2021. She taught and retired from Presentation Academy and was a talented published writer and playwright. Glenda enjoyed cooking, reading, playing BINGO and cherished family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Spanjers; mother, Marie Lowery; step-father, Jake Lowery; grand-daughter, Ronna Gaddie and brother, Gary Cox.

She leaves to cherish her memories; children, Kelly Miller, Donetta (Gerald) Wolfe, Mary (Gareth) Crim, Shane Spanjers, Summer Smothers, Ashlee Rodriguez, Robert Spanjers, Thomas Spanjers, Kara Spanjers, Daniel (Shayla) Spanjers, Micah (Lissie) Spanjers, Jeffrey Spanjers, Clarissa Spanjers, Jakeb Spanjers, Stephen (Bailey) Spanjers, Joseph Spanjers and Lennie Rose Spanjers; 24; grandchildren, 8 great- grandchildren; siblings, Betty (Rusty) Albright, Kenny (Karen) Lowery and Chucky Lowery and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, from 10am-12:30pm with a celebration of Glenda's life being at 12:30.

Glenda will be laid to rest at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.

The family would like to thank the staff at Essex Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care and love our mother received over the last several years.
