Glen Michael Gaither Sr. 67, of Louisville, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Glen graduated from Shawnee High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served as a reservist in the Army National Guard. He retired from Transit Authority of River City (TARC) after 28 years of service the city of Louisville. Glen was a long-time member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, where he was an active volunteer for Mens Outreach. He was the Vice president of the Smooth Operators Social Club and a member of the Teachers Bowling League.
Glen was born on July 10, 1951 in Louisville, KY to Horace Sr. and Mona Jean Gaither. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean
Gaither, granddaughter Endya Gaither, and daughter-in-law Namika Gaither.
Glen is survived by his loving wife Charlotte of 5 years, his parents Horace Sr. (Geneva) and Mona Jean Gaither, Father-in-law, William Duffy, sons, Glen (Shandie) Gaither Jr. and Eugene (Charna) Gaither Sr., daughter, TeAundra (Terrence) Hughes, Stepson, Dwayne Morton Jr., brothers, Garry Sr. (Cynthia), Graig, and Horace (Kelly) Gaither Jr., sister, Janet Gaither, 5 granddaughters, 6 grandsons, 1 great granddaughter, his niece, Charric (Samuel) Merrill, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends that he loved dearly.
Visitation will be held at Pleasant View Baptist Church (2600 Virginia Ave) from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 20, 2018, with a celebration of his life at 1:00 pm at the church.
