Gladys Mae Ray, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Gladys was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan. She enjoyed gardening, Bingo, and camping at Green River. Gladys was a member of the Levi & Lace Square Dancing Club. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gladys retired from the Jefferson County School System where she was a Bus Driver. Holidays were an important time for her, and she loved decorating the home.
She was born on November 27, 1944 in Lancaster, Kentucky to Jesse and Mattie (Cobb) Carrier. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Son, Jeffery Ray, Siblings, Jesse Carrier, Jr., Leonard Carrrier, Nancy Ray, Harold Carrier, Neal Carrier, Dorothy Grider, and Bertie Kirkpatrick.
Gladys is survived by her loving Husband of 59 years, Donald Ray, Daughter, Rebecca King, Son, Don (Melissa) Ray, Son, Jason (Terri) Ray, Sisters, Elsie Broaddus, and Betty Ann Edgington. Gladys also leaves behind to cherish her memory 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, and Extended Family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with Entombment to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
