Gladys L. Chesney, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. She was born in Jackson, Michigan on February 22, 1939 to Clifford DeAlvin and Genevieve Eleanor Thornton.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Chesney, Jr.
Gladys is survived by her beloved children, Lorraine (Terry) Ferris, Robert Leon (Carol) Chesney and Jay Neil Davis; grandchildren, Marie (Cory) Carter, Spring Sweet, Crystal Lynn Ferris, Jordan Chesney, Joell Chesney, McKenzie Chesney, Sean Davis and Jaye Davis; great-grandchildren, Shaun, Cynthia, Desirae, Alyvia and Justice; a sister, Darlene Morton; a brother, William (JoAnn) Thornton; and a host of other family members and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with inurnment at a later date. The family will gather from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
