Gilbert Gary Roark

October 8, 1952 — April 7, 2018

Gilbert "Gary" Roark, 65, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018. He was a United States Marine veteran. Gary enjoyed camping and working on classic cars, as well as woodworking. He was also an animal lover and collector of Hot Wheels.

He was born on October 8, 1952, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Gilbert and Myrtle (Hasty) Roark. Gary was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Renee Roark; his son, Jason "J.R." Roark; his brother, Donald Roark; and brother-in-law, Doug Cherry.

Gary is survived by his wife, Anne (Grim) Roark; daughter, Karen Pulkrabek-Midyette; siblings, Judy Beck (Edwin), Ronald Roark (Opal), Myrna Jean Rottet, Linda Cherry, and Tim Roark (Paula); and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Funeral Service taking place at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Gary's wishes.

Contributions in Gary's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (1640 Lyndon Farm Court, Suite 104, Louisville, Kentucky 40223).
